UPCOMING SHOWS
I improvise shows in many different styles and genres. I've toured to twenty-something countries in five continents, teaching and performing. I designed four levels of curriculum for Hoopla, the UK's largest improv school. My book The Improviser's Way, A Longform Workbook is published by Nick Hern Books. I play (and guest) with lots of companies including The Maydays and Project2. I was in the first virtual reality improv show and continue to perform both live and in the digital space.
The image of a book cover: Katy Schutte dressed in red overalls and goggles against a greenish space terrain, holding a staff. The cover reads "The Improviser's Way, A Longform Workbook by Katy Schutte. Foreword by Susan Messing.
A black square with a colourful graphic diamond in the middle. Katy and Chris are frozen in action movie kicks. The clean science fiction logo for Project2 is in the upper right corner.

A spooky American house with bats flying around is in the background. In front are a team of Tim Burton style weirdos wearing black and white stripes. One is carrying a violin. The text reads 'Happily Never After'.
It reads 'Knightmare Live'. There is a horned helmet suspended in mist with lighting striking behind it.
A man in a lobster outfit, waving a banner saying 'Improv!' with the brand name Hoopla across the blue background.

I make and/or perform theatre shows in different genres.
A blue background with a portrait of a woman in the foreground wearing a similarly blue 50s style dress. She is wearing cateye glasses and red lipstick. There is an arrow drawn on in white that goes through her head. The title says 'Schutte the Unromantic by Katy Schutte'.
Picture taken from above of a woman standing on a pentacle chalked onto a wooden floor. The words read 'Let's Summon Demons'.

I write and perform immersive theatre. I've been working with Fando, Storyfutures, CreativeXR, Flipside and Bristol Improv Theatre this year to make augmented and virtual reality and multi-platform work that is written or part-improvised.

I write in many mediums which have included musical theatre, a textbook on improvisation, songs for the radio, a crowd-funded web series, the board game Cards Against Humanity and dramaturgy for The Lasters, a concept album by Fred Deakin.
A man and woman in their late thirties stand in a bathroom. Neither are wearing trousers. She is holding up a towel and him shorts as if to swap. The title reads 'Sideliners'.
A cartoony podcast logo showing a robot and a man being held up in a picture on a phone. It reads 'Sean and Robot's Comedy Circuit'.
