Improviser • Writer • Maker • Performer
I improvise shows in many different styles and genres. I've toured to tens of countries in five continents, teaching and performing. I designed four levels of curriculum for Hoopla, the UK's largest improv school and a 4-level acting and improv curriculum for Fennec in Saudi Arabia. My book The Improviser's Way, A Longform Workbook is published by Nick Hern Books. I perform (and guest) with lots of companies including Project2, Yes Queens (on the West End) and was a member of The Maydays 2004-2022. I perform in theatres, on the radio and in the digital space. I am a teaching artist.
I make (and often perform) theatre shows in different genres.
I write and perform immersive theatre. I've been working with FANDCO, Storyfutures, CreativeXR, Digital Catapult, Flipside, ACE and Bristol Improv Theatre for the past few years to make augmented and virtual reality and multi-platform work that is written or part-improvised. I was the first improv performer in VR (with Chris Mead and Tony Harris) thanks to AltVR and have worked with Make Real, TOMtech and OMUK.
I write in many mediums which have included musical theatre, a textbook on improvisation, songs for children's radio, web series, feature film, augmented and virtual reality shows and games, the board game Cards Against Humanity and dramaturgy for The Lasters, a concept album by Fred Deakin. You can see many of my sexy awards at the top of this page.
